No. The tip is made of soft medical-grade silicone: gentle and comfortable. Never force it, a slow twist is enough, because the adhesive does the work, not pressure.
The stick is thin and designed to stay at the entrance of the ear canal. There’s no reason to push it in: whatever sticks to the tip comes out with it. It’s the exact opposite of a cotton bud, which pushes without capturing.
You’ll see it from the very first use: the earwax is visible on the tip when you take it out. A cotton bud often comes out clean while your ear stays blocked. No need to take our word for it, the proof is right in front of you.
A cotton bud has a head that’s wider than the ear canal, so it can only pack down what it meets and push it deeper. Earvella does the opposite: a thin stick, a sticky tip, and the earwax comes out with it.
